Remote Auditing and the Virtual Workforce
This article explores the impact of remote work on internal audits and how auditors can adapt to the virtual workforce. The shift to remote auditing, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has created both opportunities and challenges, particularly in maintaining audit quality and ensuring data security. The use of cloud-based audit tools and virtual communication technologies allows auditors to carry out remote audits, but it also requires new skills, constant communication, and adherence to security standards. The article concludes that while remote auditing is beneficial in terms of flexibility and cost savings, auditors must address data security and maintain the integrity of audit processes in a virtual environment.
